Privacy Policy

Who we are. ClearResume (“we”, “us”) provides a resume builder. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it. Questions: support@clearresume.io.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address and, for email sign-ups, a salted hash of your password (never the password itself). If you sign in with Google, we store your Google account id and email; we never receive your Google password.
- Resume content — the resume, applications, and cover letters you create.
- Published resumes — only if you explicitly publish, a public copy at a shareable link.
- Billing data — if you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe; we store only your Stripe customer id and plan, never card numbers.
How we use it
To run your account, save and sync your work, process your resume through our AI provider when you ask us to (parse, tailor, screen, write cover letters), and take payment for paid plans. We do not sell your data and do not use it to train AI models.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of processors strictly to provide the service:
- Supabase — database hosting.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- An AI provider — processes your resume text on your request to power parsing, tailoring, and screening.
- Google — only if you choose “Continue with Google” for sign-in.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid plans.
- Resend — sending verification and password-reset email.
Some processors are located outside your country; where required we rely on standard contractual clauses for international transfers.
Public resume pages
Resumes you publish are crawlable by search engines and AI agents by design. Personal contact details (email, phone) are hidden by default; you opt in to show them. You can unpublish at any time, which removes the public copy immediately.
Cookies
We use a single signed, http-only session cookie that keeps you logged in. It is strictly necessary for the service, so no consent banner is required. We use no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your data; published copies are removed as soon as you unpublish or delete.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email support@clearresume.io and we will action your request.
Children
ClearResume is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
